Prominent Egyptian actress Elham Shahin has notified officials at the Egyptian Broadcasting Company that she will not abide by their new salary scale and will not accept less than 3 million Egyptian pounds for acting in a television drama. Elham stressed that she deserves such a high wage because of her great achievements in the acting world.

According to the Egyptian daily, Al Gomhoriyah, Elham also revealed that she has turned down her nomination to act in the upcoming film "Amarit Ya’qoubain" starring prominent Egyptian actor Adel Imam along with a number of prominent actors and actresses. Elham stressed that the role she was offered does not suit her at all and that she is not convinced with it.

Elham added that if the role is rewritten to give her more exposure in the film she may reconsider her decision. The actress noted that her being a prominent star forbids her from accepting such minor roles.

The latest work Elham took part in were two television drama series "Bint Afandeena" and "Imra’a min Nar", which were aired during the holy month of Ramadan. –Albawaba.com
