According to the London daily Elaph, 95% of fans paid as much as US$680 for the tickets for Lebanese singer Elissa and Egyptian singer Amer Diab’s recent New Years concert in Dubai.
Concert sponsor ‘Rotana’ sent manager Salem Al Hindi to supervise the event and a number of managers from Saudi Arabia, Beirut and Egypt. They also came to Dubai to celebrate with the two famous stars, who recently won the International Music Award.
Salem Al Hindi personally greeted the singers on the Maktoom Stage in Dubai International Shopping Center. Elissa started the celebration and welcomed the New Year, finishing her performance at 1 am. Diab went up on stage next and performed until 3 am.
When Diab finished the audience rushed toward him as security struggled to keep them away. Rumors claim Diab invited a passionate female fan to visit him in his dressing room.
