Thousands of young Egyptians were fortunate to be part of one of the biggest concerts to take place in Egypt by international Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias. The concert was marked with enormous success as fans danced and sang along for two whole hours not wanting the night to end.
Major security measures were taken to ensure that there is order and that only persons with tickets may enter the arena. The tickets were divided into five different levels from VIP, in which holders of these tickets were given special treatment and entered from a special entrance and were escorted to their seats, to tickets for the common people, who stood up throughout the concert.
It was revealed that Enrique, who enjoys enormous popularity especially among the ladies, stole the spotlight from Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram who began the concert and only sang for half an hour. Fans at the concert did not show much interest in Nancy’s performance, in which she sang a number of her songs from the last album “Ah Wi Nus”, as they did in her previous concerts. Ajram had revealed that she will be taking part in the big concert in Cairo-Egypt featuring Iglesias, which was held at the Egyptian International Media City on April 17, 2004.
The concert is part of a Middle East tour Enrique is holding and witnessed enormous success as was previously expected. Nancy has stressed that her participation in the concert would surely add to her music career and it’s an experience she looked forward to with excitement.
The Arab music satellite channel Melody aired Enrique’s tour and had prepared several quiz shows for viewers with chances to win free tickets to the concerts, in addition to a grand prize, which is a chance to hold a personal interview with the international singer. Enrique’s first stop is in Dubai on April 15, 2004 after which he headed directly to Cairo. –Albawaba.com
