Preparations are now underway for Opera Aida, which will kick off October 10 for four days at the Pyramids, according to the daily Ahram newspaper.
In order to display an event that is expected to captivate the world, the organizers of the Opera Aida, the Egyptian Opera House, is seeking the help of international experts in the fields of singing, music, lighting, Ballet and designing.
These renowned stars include orchestra leader Maurizio Arena, opera singers Elena Zelenskaya and Galina Kalinina, who will play Aida’s role successively. Playing the role of Radamis will be opera singers Stephen Omara and Ignasio Ensanes also in succession.
As for dancing and costume desing, designer Noria Carsco from Italy, and dancer Armenia Kamel from Russia, will also be attending.
Participation in the performances will not be limited to international stars only, Egyptian singers Aiman Mustafa, Walid Karim and Ridha Wakil, in addition to the Opera House chorus, will also be performing.
Opera Aida’s will be directed by the head of the Opera Art House, Abdul Mine’m Kamel, for the third consecutive year.
Kamel announced that 2000 stars will participate in this year’s show, adding that lighting will be supervised by Italian, French and Spanish experts, using advanced technology to highlight the pyramids as a backdrop for the drama events. - Albawaba.com
