Hisham Abbas denies being sentenced to jail

The famous Egyptian artist Hisham Abbas denied rumors that he was sentenced to a year in prison for not paying his taxes.  Hisham said the rumor is silly and that he had negotiated a deal with the tax agency to decrease the amount owed.

 Abbas said that he was surprised to hear and read about such rumors, despite the fact that he as paid the fines.

 Abbas said that he was inadvertently taxed for albums that he did not release, which is why the fines were decreased. Abbas calls on those spreading such rumors to stop and to show respect for him.
