Italian Protest Song Dedicated to Palestinian Children
Italian musician Janny Antonelli released his new song Children on a CD. The song was written and composed by him and dedicated to the Palestinian and Italian children in collaboration with al Sayyed al Hadi from Libya who participated in performance.
The statement, “Eyewitnesses reported that the three Palestinian children whose school bags were still on their backs were playing on their way home when the shells from the Israeli tanks rained on them,” is written in both Arabic and Italian on the CD cover.
The daily al Hayat quoted Antonili as saying, “it is very sad for me to see innocent children, like roses, at the age of my children and other people’s children killed by the Israeli soldiers because they are innocent. Why is this inhuman brutality and savagery? We have been and are still rocked by the images of the innocent Palestinian children who are exterminated by the Israeli mad bullets and evil mines planted by the Israeli soldiers who have lost their human conscience. I will continue to sing for the freedom of these people who resist the occupation with boldness. I shall continue singing for this armless people who have faith in their rights and sacrifice their lives and bread for their sake.”
The lyric of the song Children, says:
“By chance we were playing …the game of war with the soldiers puppets…we were playing…like that…we were just small kids…we were dreaming of a better future…we are small kids like that…all of a sudden shells are everywhere…and while the child is playing… shells fall everywhere…and Palestine dies…like that the street was full of love…love that has no boundaries…they were just small children…
For God’s sake stop these arms…for God’s sake stop these pains…this child needs to live…needs future…I cannot any more see mothers crying…I cannot tolerate seeing them suffering…” -- Albawab.com
