Jannat Mahid's new album to drop next week after a three year wait
Good news, fans of Jannat Mahid! The Moroccan songstress is back after a lengthy three-year break from the music industry with a new song in time for summer.
Her latest song is called ‘Hubb Jamid’ (Strong Love) and has begun being played on radio stations across the Arab world.
Her new album is expected to drop at the end of next week, and will feature 13 songs carefully selected by Jannat. Having reached an agreement with ‘Rotana’ production company, the official release date for the album is May 8.
Despite taking plenty of time to put out new material, the journey has been a bit bumpy for Jannat – there have been issues with securing all the necessary permits for the distribution of the music across the Middle East. But, don’t fear Egyptian fans – Jannat has made sure you can get your hands on her album through all the proper channels.
Additionally, Jannat told the press that she was disappointed to find that the highly anticipated artwork for the album was leaked online. The superstar wanted to keep it as a surprise for her fans, but alas – the internet waits for noone.
Jannat has announced that she will be filming a music video for a single off the new album- which song hasn’t been decided yet, however. The singer wants to wait and see which song is most popular with her fans first.
‘Hubb Jamid’ could be a good candidate for the music video, as after mere hours of being posted, it was downloaded more than 100,000 times!
