Jerash Fest to host Arabic song stars

Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts will kick off on July 24 with unique features, as this year’s session will coincide with the celebrations of Amman as a capital for Arabic culture. 

The official opening eve will be special for the local activities as al Fuhais Troupe will come back to the spotlight through performances from the Arabic heritage in addition to a program to be implemented by the Noor al Hussein Establishment for Performing Arts. 

The prominent Lebanese singer Marcel Khalifa will open the festival’s singing program on July 25-26 and will be followed by Mohammed Munir who will come from Egypt on July 27 in order to perform some of his popular songs. 

Jerash south theater will receive the Syrian singer Samih Shqair on August 3. 

The festival management has prepared a special program for tourists who expect to find joy and enjoyment among the pillars of the historical city and on its stages. This includes the first concert by the UAE singer Abdulla Balkhair on August 2. There will be also two concerts to be performed by the Egyptian singer Hisham Abbas on August 9 and 10, 2002. The south theater will receive for the first time on August 1 the two singers Shireen and Tamer Hosni from Egypt. 

Enana Troupe from Syria will participate in the festival with a dancing show entitled Sun Sons. Aljeel Club Troupe from Jordan will portray folk performances from the Caucasian heritage while the Egyptian Ballet Troupe will participate with their dances in the festival. Also the Jordanian Artist Association’s Arabic Melody Troupe will participate in the festival. 

The festival will also include many music and folk dance shows by members of the Jordanian Academy for Music, the EU orchestra, Ararat Troupe for Armenian Heritage, Croatia Ballet Troupe, Chinese Acrobat Troupe, Rozana Troupe from Jordan and Arabic Coral.  

The Syrian Troupe Kulna Sawa will sing along with the Lebanese artist Dania al Khatib -- Albawaba.com
