Justin's not a Belieber in road rules: Singer caught speeding in Dubai
Justin Bieber was pulled over for driving at dangerous speeds in Dubai and will be whacked with a series of fines, police have confirmed.
Open-mouthed motorists spotted the tearaway teen singer driving down Sheikh Zayed Road on Sunday in a white Lamborghini Aventador just hours before a “fan
wanting a hug” attempted to grab him on stage at the Sevens Stadium.
It’s the latest incident to plague the star in a two-gig, five-day trip to Dubai that was packed with controversy.
On Tuesday police told 7DAYS that Bieber was stopped in Dubai “just before attending his second concert”.
“Police patrols noticed a white Lamborghini speeding on SZR and they asked the motorist to stop,” said a spokesman from Dubai Traffic Police. “Justin has a number of fines for exceeding speed limits on Sheikh Zayed Road.”
The Dubai Traffic Police spokesperson, however, could not confirm exactly how many speeding fines the irresponsible 19-year-old will face, nor the exact speeds clocked. Internet rumours claimed that Bieber hit 240kph. UK newspaper The Sun claimed that Bieber set off six speed cameras in his Sunday ride.
Witness Nikki Jameson told the UK tabloid: “Every single one flashed off as he went past. He had a close shave with a bus and stood out like a sore thumb.”
Bieber might have been speeding around Dubai but he certainly took his time coming on stage for both gigs.
He showed up more than two hours late for both of his shows, much to the disappointment and anger of tired mums, dads and young fans. A YouTube clip showing Bieber roaring into the car park at The Sevens stadium is dated as the night of Saturday May 4, his first concert.
