Kuwaiti Miami Troupe to sing in Yemen
At the end of next July, the Kuwaiti Miami Troupe will arrive in the Yemeni capital Sanaa to perform concerts in Sanaa and Eden upon invitation from the art office of the Yemeni singer Nashwa and under the sponsorship of a number of companies and commercial establishments.
“The Kuwaiti troupe’s songs will be the first in Yemen and the concerts will be performed twice in both Sanaa and Eden. Most of the concert’s proceeds will go the Palestinian Red Crescent in support for the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Israeli occupation,” Nashwa pointed out to the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.
She added, “the organization of these concerts aims at stirring the recession in the art sector which the Yemeni arena suffers from after the traditional public concerts which allow an artist to meet his audience and admirers faded away.”
The Yemeni singer indicated that the selection of Miami Troupe has come in view of its wide popular reputation and unique performance in most of the Arab countries. She expressed her gratitude to the Minister of Information, Culture and Youth for supporting her idea of reviving the traditional public concerts usually entrusted to special art offices and establishments in other Arab countries.
It is anticipated that Miami Troupe’s concerts will achieve noticeable success in Yemen due to the hunger of the Yemeni audience to the public concerts on one hand and due to the expansion of the base of admirers of this troupe on the other hand. This is in addition to the intensive media campaign launched to guarantee the success of these concerts and their humanitarian objective -- Albawaba.com
