Laila Elwi honored by Children’s Cinema Festival
Prominent Egyptian actress Laila Elwi’s recent marriage has brought her good fortune. Immediately after her marriage last year, the actress was honored at the Alexandria Film Festival and this year she will be honored by the Cairo International Children’s Cinema Festival.
According to the London based Elaph, Laila will be honored for her achievements throughout her career, which she began in her early childhood. The festival will honor other stars that also began their acting careers as children and were able to maintain their fame.
Laila began her acting career on a children’s program and was awarded her first role in a film at the age of 10. By 15 she was granted her first leading role in the film “Al Bu’sa’” (The Miserable) alongside Fareed Shawqi.
Laila is eagerly waiting for the screening of her upcoming film “Alwan Al Sama As Sab’ah” (The color of the seven skies). The film will be competing in the Cairo Cinema Festival. Prominent Egyptian stars Farouq Al Fishawi, Sawsan Badr, Ahmad Ratib and Shareef Ramzi costar in the film alongside Laila.
