Laila Elwi, a mother of five next Ramadan season

Egyptian actress Laila Elwi will play the role of a mother, for the first time, facing many problems raising her five childrenkids that are mainly caused by her husband played by Basem Samrah.

According to the London daily Elaph, Elwi will play the role in the television drama series “Hikayat Ben’ishha” (Stories That We Live). The first episodes will be called “Hala Wa AL Mustakhabi” (Hala And The Unknown). The series is directed by Maryam Abu Oof.

 After finishing the set inside “Egypt Studio” the crew will then travel to Alexandria to film for 10 days. Once the scenes of the first part are finished the director of the second part of the series Muhammad Ali will start filming the remaining episodes in July. The episodes for the second part will be called “Majnoon Laila” (Crazy About Laila).

 The ages of the five kids vary between one to six years and among the kids starting in the new series are “Omar” the son of the Egyptian local artist Hakeem, and “Yousif and Sivian” the sons of Hakeem’s brother the producer Yehya Shanab.

The series also stars Ahmad Rateb, Raja Hussein, Muhammad Ramadan, Lara Al Masri and Nidal Al Shaf’ie.

 There are negotiations underway with a number of Egyptian and otherArab satellite channels to buy the rights to the new drama series.

The new series will mark a new comeback for Elwi into television drama after a long absence.

The series is also considered the first Egyptian drama series that includes two separate series, each containing15 episodes. The only connection between the two drama series is that both star Elwi.

The new drama series is a partnership production between “Final Cat,” “Al Karmah,” “Promo Media” and “Aflam Yehya Shanab.”
