Young Egyptian actress Mai Izz el Din revealed that she is very disappointed with recent criticism against her after the dance piece she performed in front of Egyptian comedian actor Mohammad Saed in their latest film “8 Jija”.
Criticism had it that Mai was being too seductive in her dance and her main intention is to seduce young men. In addition, it was said that the dance scene gave the film bad reviews.
In her defense, Mai stressed that in no way did she intend to seduce young men and she was wearing a long and conservative traditional dress that showed no part of her body. She added that the dance she performed was just part of the events of the film and she was dancing to a song sung by Mohammad Saed, whose songs are always a favorite by film viewers.
The events of the film revolve around a poor lawyer who marries a teacher and creates numerous obstacles for her due to his financial situation. The film is a comedy and tackles real life social issues.
On a different note, Mai is currently filming the scenes for her upcoming television drama series “Qadiat Safiyah” (Safiyah’s case), which is scheduled to be aired during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.
