Lebanese diva Majida Al Roumi recently received a special invitation from the Algerian television to hold a concert under the patronage of Algerian President Abdul Aziz Boutiflika in celebration of the International Women’s Day. Large crowds of fans, mostly women, gathered at the concert hall two hours before the scheduled concert time.

Once the singer walked up on stage she received a very prestigious standing ovation for almost ten minutes as the crowd clapped and cheered endlessly for their beloved singer, who kept her head bowed as a sign of respect. The Algerian President was also among the audience giving the concert a more dignified feeling and a sense of importance.

The President made it a point to be present at the event and insisted on going on stage to present an award to the singer honoring her for her great achievements and showing her Algeria’s appreciation of her.

The managing office of Majida revealed that the recent circulating rumors stating that Majida had signed a contract with Good News is true. It is known that Good News belongs to known journalist Imad Eldin Adeeb, who has begun his film production with the film “Imarit Ya’qoubain” starring prominent Egyptian actors Adel Imam and Nour El Sharif, in addition to producing the new film “Halim” starring prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki.

The singer’s office has added that a grand ceremony will be held in the very near future to celebrate the signing of the contract. Majida will be acting alongside Ahmad in the film “Halim” and will sing the opening and ending songs of the movie.
