Mina Shalabi exposes corrupt politicians
Egyptian actress Mina Shalabi is thrilled with her new role in the film “Fatima, Reem and Mahmoud” that revolves around the corruption practiced by Egyptian politicians. Mina said that her new role is daring, and different from her roles in previous films.
Events in the film depict actual incidents that took place during the Egyptian Revolution on January 25, which overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. Incidents of how innocent demonstrators were tortured and killed by officials are featured in the film.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Mina denied that her participation in the film is a ploy to win back the hearts of people in Egypt, after she was accused of not supporting protesters against the Mubarak regime.
“From the beginning of the revolution I supported the protesters, and if I had been in Egypt during the revolution I would have gone out and stood by their side in Tahrir Square,” said Mina.
The film stars Mina, Basem Samrah, Nahed Al Siba’ie and Salwa Mohammad Ali.
