Moroccan athletes protest against Nancy Ajram
The scheduled concert for Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram in Morocco on March 20, 2005, has given rise to chaos leading to protests by one of the Moroccan athletic teams. The crisis broke out after the team refused to accept a relocation of their scheduled match at the arena where Nancy is to hold her concert on the same day and stressed they will go on strike if the issue is not resolved to their advantage.
According to the London based daily, Al Quds Al Arabi, captain of the team refused the suggestion of playing at another arena, stressing that it is not realistic for them to relocate when there is a city concert hall where the singer may hold her concert. He added that if the decision is not reversed he and his team will hold a protest on the same day of Nancy’s concert.
After being a major element of the success achieved by Nancy director Nadine Libky has been replaced by the singer with an Italian director. Nadine had directed all of Nancy’s music video, like “Akhasmak Aah” and “lawon Eyounak” that had led her to the top of most music charts and brought her significant success throughout the Arab world.
The singer revealed that her next music video, which is for the song “Inta Eih”, will be directed by Italian director Luka. Nancy stressed that her reason for not working with Nadine is merely for change and introducing something new to her fans.
