Morocco to Host First Maghreb Song Fest

The Maghreb’s Artist Union will organize the first Maghreb’s song festival at Opera Theater in Morocco during the period between February 17-20. 

A number of singers will participate in the festival including the Moroccan singer Rashidah Talal, Sulaf and Faisal al Riyahi from Tunisia, Lubabah bint al Midah from Mauritania, Ashraf Mahfouz and Ayman from Libya, Wahibah al Mahdi from Algeria and Mahmoud al Edrissi from Morocco. 

The festival comes as a commemoration of the anniversary of the establishment of the Arab Maghreb Union hosted by Morocco in 1989. 

Apart from the big concert which will be performed by the aforementioned singers, the festival program includes, according to the London based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat, the organization of a forum on arts in the Arab Maghreb states -- Albawaba.com
