On the beaches of Alexandria in Egypt, director Yusri Naser Allah started filming the first scenes of his new film “Ehki Ya Shahrazad” (Shahrazad Talk). The filming in Alexandria lasted for four days then the crew moved back to Cairo to finish filming the rest of the scenes. The director made a deal with the film crew to film all the outdoor scenes first.
According to the London daily Elaph, Naser Allah had worked on extensively on preparing the film with scenarist Wahid Hamed. It will star the famous Egyptian actress Muna Zaki. This will mark Muna’s return after a long absence from the cinema which lasted for two years. Muna’s last film was “Taymor and Shafiqa” where she starred in with Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Saqa.
The new film “Ehki Ya Shahrazad” views the role of women in the Egyptian culture. It is needless to say that Egyptian artist Ruby was first nominated for a leading role but turned it down. Ruby stated that she would have loved working with Muna Zaki but the filming schedule overlaps with the filming of her new film “Al Waed” (The Promise), which stars famous actors Mahmoud Yasin, Asar Yasin and Basem Samrah.
Ruby added that she turned the new role, because she did not want to cause any troubles for both films, with regards to setting specific schedules.
