Prominent Lebanese singer Najwa Karam is preparing to go on a tour around the world starting in Melbourne and Sydney Australia in May . Upon her return from Australia, Najwa will head to Jordan, where she is scheduled to hold two concerts.
The singer’s managing office has revealed that in July, Najwa will for the first time in her career hold a grand performance in Brazil after receiving a private invitation from Lebanese residing there.
The managing office of Karam had released a statement by the singer regarding recent allegations of a lawsuit against her in Tunisia. The singer wanted to clarify to people what had actually happened between her and the concert agent that sued her.
Najwa revealed that the agent had asked her to perform at the Carthage Festival in 1998, whereas the contract signed between them only states that she performs in a number of cities around Tunisia and not at festivals. Najwa had turned down the agent’s request for singing in Carthage due to the fact that she was not prepared for it, especially since the festival is such a prestigious one that needs preparations in advance.
The singer’s actions made the agent accuse her of going outside the boundaries of their contract stressing that she must sing at any given place. Najwa added that the agent is known for creating disputes and filing lawsuits against singers, stressing that this instance has nothing to do with the love and respect she feels for the Tunisian people.
