Soccer goes supersize in Oman with world's largest football
The Guinness Book of World Records announced on Dec. 2 that Oman has made the largest football in the world, Times of Oman reported on Monday.
The soccer ball is around ten meters in diameter with a weight of 750 kg.
The Guinness Book of World Records certificate stated: “World’s Largest Soccer Ball made of artificial leather by Golden Hornet, Oman."
The Golden Hornet company pioneered the mega soccer ball idea as support to the national team on the occasion of 42nd National Day of Oman.
The Managing Director of Golden Hornet, Zuhair Al Balushi said: “At last, our dream has come true. We put Oman into an international record recognizing book of relevance to sports. We are proud of this achievement.”
