The Egyptian Opera House will host Palestinian singer Abeer Mansour and lute player Raed Antwan, who will participate in the concert to be held Monday at the Small Theater. The proceeds will be allocated for the Palestinian Red Crescent, according to the daily al Gomhuria.
Mansour will perform a number of Palestinian folksongs, while Antwan will play a musical piece entitled Ishraq (Shining) composed by the prominent Iraqi musician and lute player Nasir Shammah.
A number of Egyptian singers and players will also participate in the concert, including, player Nasma Abdel al Aziz who will perform a number of musical pieces composed by Egyptian musician Omar Khairat.
The renowned singer Riham Abdel Hakim, along with singer Wael Sami, will a number of patriotic songs for Palestine, such as, Lazem Haiegi Rabia’ (Spring will Come) and Estaiqezi ya Ummati (My Nation, Wake up). Amira Farrag will sing Ghabet Shamsina (Our Sun Set).
The concert will also include the screening of a documentary film about the Palestinian Intifada, directed by Walid Mahmoud, accompanied with poems read by TV announcer Muna Salman – Albawaba.com
