Pop Megastar Elton John to Appear at Lebanon Summer Festival
Flamboyant pop star Elton John will hold a concert at this summer's art festival at the 19th century Beiteddine Palace, a source close to the committee organizing the event told AFP on Tuesday.
The veteran British pop star known for his flashy outfits will appear on stage with his piano only to sing for a single evening concert on July 7, the source said.
The concert will be held within the annual summer festival held in the courtyards of the Beiteddine Palace, perched on a cliff overlooking picturesque valleys in the Shouf mountains southeast of Beirut.
The festivals will feature artists and styles from all over the world, including five performances of the acclaimed French musical Notre Dame de Paris, with its entire cast, on August 10-15, the source said.
Over the past few years, the festival has hosted concerts by many world-famous artists, including tenor Placido Domingo, soprano Montserrat Caballe, jazz guitarist John McLaughlin and the jazz singers Dee Dee Bridgewater and Betty Carter -- AFP
