Moroccan singer Samira Said has been struck with the evil eye of envy and was forced to remain bed rest for three days as a result of a severe case of the flu. The singer has been under strict supervision by doctors after she began experiencing a very high fever.

According to the Egyptian based weekly, Al Nogoom, close friends of the singer have revealed that people’s envy of the singer was the reason behind her sudden health deterioration, especially after her latest album has gained more success than any other album released at the same time.

Samira was able to conquer the number one spot in the record market with her latest album "Qaweeni Beek" (Make Me Strong), after an absence from the scenes that lasted two years. The sales of Samira’s album is considered the highest in most Arab countries, like <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Lebanon, Egypt, the UAE, and many others.

The main song of the album "Qaweeni Beek", which is also the title of the album, is also taking over number one spots in most song contests on different satellite music channels. Samira had finally released her new album under the production of Alam El Phan Production Company. The album had faced continuous delay in the past few months due to last minute changes the singer made.
