Tunisia will host on July 22, 2002 the International Legendary Film Festival, which will continue until July 28. The festival will be held in the southeastern Tunisian Island of Jerbah, according to the daily al Bayan.
The festival head, Mohsen Barka, said, “this cinematic celebration under the banner “Music in Cinema” will be attended by a number of singers and musicians including Anwar Ibrahim, Samir al Shishi, Mohammed Zein al Abideen, Lutfi Bushnaq and Latifa.”
He added, “cinema lovers will have an appointment with the event in addition to music and pleasure brought by a number of prominent Tunisian and international films.”
Barka pointed out that the historical films, which will be screened, would be the same films shot in Tunisia and the entire Maghreb area at the beginning of last century. This is in addition to featuring artworks by the renowned filmmaker Qoudar.
The festival head indicated that the festival wouldn’t be limited to screening historic and legendary films only, but will also include a variety of activities including the organization of a show for the Tunisian books specializing in cinema and formation arts in addition to organizing intellectual meetings with a number of film directors and producers -- Albawaba.com
