Wafa Makky gives to charity

Egyptian actress Wafa Makky will star in the new television drama “Ard Al Khair” (Land of the Good), in which she plays a wealthy, widow who invests her efforts in charity work in the hope of helping the underprivileged.

 

Throughout the drama Wafa’s character is faced with numerous attacks despite her humanitarian efforts.

 

The drama, written by Kamal Ahmad and directed by Mohammad Abdul Aziz, also stars Egyptian actors Salah Al Sa’dani, Ma’ali Zayed, Ahmad Khalil.

 

Filming is underway for her upcoming television drama “Hamam Al Talat” (The Hills Bath) in the 'Egypt Studios,' Wafa’s comeback to the scenes.

 

Egyptian folk-singer Shabaan Abdul Rahim will costar alongside Wafa, marking his first appearance on the small screen. Shabaan has acted in one film and one play thus far.

 

Sources have revealed that retired Egyptian belly dancer Zizi Mustafa will also appear in the drama wearing a Hijab, the Islamic headdress for women.
 
Wafa has also requested a script for a new film telling her personal story of her time behind bars.  The actress recently completed a three-year jail sentence for beating her servants, grooming her for the part.
