Prominent Algerian singer Warda has announced that she will completely resign from holding any musical concerts after her doctors had advised her not to. The singer’s doctors stressed that holding such activities is extremely harmful to her health condition and if she wanted to continue her career as a singer, she must refrain from holding performances.

Warda was warned by her doctors two years ago to resign from her singing career after her health condition deteriorated. The singer had in fact took the advice of her doctors but had felt it was time once more to come back to her number one passion and has already begun preparations for her upcoming album.

According to the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the last performance the singer held was during Algeria’s independence day and celebrations for the revolution. The singer had presented a special song dedicated for the event and marked her return to the scenes with it showing her devotion to her beloved country.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika had awarded Warda with a medal - national order of merit - in the course of a ceremony held for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the November 1st 1954 Revolution.
