Opening 6 September at the Beirut Art Centre, in collaboration with Foundation Saradar, White Wall is an exhibition that brings together graffiti artists from around the world, including Egypt, Europe and South America, with the goal of giving a new impetus to Beirut’s street art scene.
The show, which will feature 15 international artists, including Egypt’s Aya Tarek, will not be confined to the gallery but will spill over onto the streets of Beirut, infecting it with the momentum of artists from contrasting cultural backgrounds.
“One of the key issues raised by this event is to understand how it is possible to bring an inherently outdoor and accessible art to an indoor space like the Beirut Art Centre without betraying the idiosyncrasy of this art,” reads the press release.
Eighteen Lebanon-based street artists will participate in a range of White Wall affiliated activities in the city for the duration of the project, creating a fluid discourse of art and culture in Beirut.
The exhibition runs until 3 November at the Beirut Art Centre
