A whole region waited holding their breath for the first episode of the new season of X Factor Arabia to air but after all that hype, it was something of an anti-climax at the early stages.
On episode one, only four of the many many contestants auditioning made it through to the next round. Many of the young hopefuls battled with nerves and it showed it some weak entries and wobbly voices.
So on day 1 of the new season it was the star judges who really stole the limelight. Lebanese lovely, Elissa, put us through an emotional rollacoster as she cried one minute and snapped the next.
The lady with the most famous lips in the Middle East couldn't hide her disgust when some of the less talented auditioners took to the stage.
Fellow Lebanese star, Wael Kfoury, showed himself as a true gentleman, not suprising for the man known as the Arab "King of Romance".
But it was pop princess, Carole Samaha who stole the show with her tactful criticism and classy choices. Last but not least, judge Hussein al Jasmi, known as the UAE's favorite singer, was something of a dark horse. The Emirati heartthrob has recently been endorsed by legendary Saudi crooner, Mohammad Abdo, so was sitting pretty on his choices early on.
So nail biting and drama-making, the new season of X Factor has begun, with many more shocks and awws to come!
