Prominent Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani has been postponing oral surgery
until he has completed filming the final scenes of his Ramadan drama
series "Al Marsi wal Bahar" (the Salor and his Anchor).
The drama, written by Jala Abdul Kawi and directed by Ahmad Saqr, revolves
around the trials and tribulations of an Alexandria fisherman.
The actor's doctor ordered him to stop filming for a period of ten days to
undergo surgery, but instead Yahia has chose to live on sedatives to try and
cope with the pain while he continues filming.
After the drama is complete the actor will undergo the surgery, followed by a
long vacation so that he may recuperate.
The cast of the drama were accosted by local police in Cyprus while filming of
one of the scenes that included the kidnapping of Yahia and a few other cast
members by the Mafia. The police feared that the guns used by the cast members
were real and came to investigate. After they determined that the guns were
fake, and it was only a movie set, they and allowed the production to
continue.
The cast, including Yahia, Anoshka, and Mariam Fakher El Din, returned from
Cyprus to film the remaining scenes of the drama in Cairo
