Yahia Al Fakharani refuses all offers to act

Prominent Egyptian actor Yahia Al Fakharani has refused to sign any new offer for a leading role in any project and has postponed all of his entertaining activities until he completes shooting the final scenes of his upcoming television drama series “Al Marsi Wal Bahar”, which is scheduled to be aired during Ramadan. In the drama, Yahia plays the role of a fisherman who owns a number of boats living in Alexandria and faces numerous financial problems due to changes in events.
According to the UAE based daily, Al Bayan, the drama is written by Jala Abdul Qawi and is directed by Ahmad Saqer, who is currently looking for a look-alike to play the role of Yahia in his early twenties. Yahia’s son was nominated for the role, but he turned down the offer stressing that he prefers not to start an acting career and insists on focusing his attention on directing.
Despite his eagerness for the upcoming television drama series “Al Malik Farouq” (King Farouq), written by his wife Lamis Jabir five years ago, Yahia has regretfully turned down his nomination for the leading role. The Egyptian Media City had given its approval to produce the film and pay all the expenses.
Yahia stressed that he is unable to play the role of King Farouq now, but five years ago he could with the help of a makeup artist. Yahia added that the most important years for the late king were during his twenties and thirties, which is a role he can portray at his current age.
