During a press conference held in Qatar for the 9th annual Doha musical festival, Lebanese singer Yara said that she was very pleased to be part of the Festival.
“I am happy to be standing next to many famous Arab singers from all over the Arab world, I dreamed of this chance for a long time,” said Yara.
According to the London daily Elaph, Yara is happy to be working with musician Tareq Abu Jodeh and the two “will not separate.” Abu Jodeh was present with Yara at the press conference.
The singer is upset with the Lebanese media, asserting they are not reporting positively about her, damaging her career.
Yara says that her song “Sodfah” (Coincidence) is her “lucky charm,” from her new Khaliji (Gulf) album which features 16 songs.
Yara recently performed a successful duet with Fadel Shaker and hopes to perform another. She says that her success in singing in Khaliji dialect is because she loved that style of music since she was a child.
She revealed that she recently held a grand performance at the Egytpian Opera House along with other singers, like Egyptian singer Shireen, to sing the song “Al Damir Al Arabi” (The Arab Conscious).
