Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, demonstrated its cost-effective SingleRAN LTE (Long-Term Evolution) solution at the LTE MENA 2011 event in Dubai. The SingleRAN technology enables the integration of multiple radio technologies into one single network. With the integration of LTE, an operator can now offer speed up to 100Mbps. This highly competitive offer delivers substantially improved customer experience. With LTE integrated in SingleRAN, the operator has a competitive offer to its customers at the same time reaping SingleRAN benefits such as enhanced operations efficiency and reduced total cost of ownership.
The LTE ecosystem is on the fast track around the world. With the region’s rapidly growing demand for bandwidth and heavy use of data services amongst subscribers, there is a big opportunity for the LTE technology to boost the network capacities, increase throughput and improve subscriber experience.
Lars Bondelind, Vice President Wireless Marketing, Huawei said, “Around the world, LTE is on the verge of becoming an essential part of people’s everyday wireless lives. This innovative technology is not only delivering faster speed with capacity for HD video rivaling those of GSM/UMTS and fixed networks, but also offer significant cost and competitive advantages to operators. As adoption of mobile broadband continues to grow in markets like the Middle East, Huawei is focused on developing LTE products that offer significant advantages and benefits to both operators and consumers in the region.”
Huawei’s SingleRAN solution allows operators to meet the increasing demand for mobile data services and offers precise network coverage while broadening mobile network bandwidths. It is vital for operators to be able to support market demand by deploying new radio technologies such as LTE while continuing to support existing subscribers with GSM, EDGE, UMTS and HSPA terminals for many years to come. SingleRAN simultaneously support all standards and all kinds of services: voice, narrowband data and mobile broadband. With this strategy, Huawei make it possible to support traffic growing 1,000 times during the next 10 years, while fulfilling the requirements for profitability and customer satisfaction.
LTE solutions will facilitate new communication solutions for consumer electronics, appliances, public utilities, telematics and new devices that not yet entered the market. LTE provides a communication platform for all sectors including government, enterprises, healthcare, transportation and others.
As of February 2011, Huawei has been engaged in the deployment of more than 80 SingleRAN commercial networks which all can evolve to LTE. Among these networks, 30 of them have announced the date of LTE launch.
