So-called open, liberal president Hassan Rouhani may now be one of the prominent figures in Iranian politics promoting democracy and reform, but many Iranians are still taking to the streets in protest of the country's continued treatment and torture of opposition figures.

Rouhani's first attempt at implementing subsidy reform was a disaster.
