Peter Baumgartner, Etihad’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Our home city of Abu Dhabi – and the whole of the UAE – is a world-class destination particularly suited to families and children. Etihad aims to offer great value for travelling families, especially during the popular summer travel season, making the wonders of Abu Dhabi both affordable and easy to access.”
The applicable travel period falls during Ramadan, which occurs this year between August 1 and August 30. Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calendar, a time of fasting and self-discipline for Muslims who refrain from eating and drinking during daylight hours. After sunset, Abu Dhabi comes alive with music and excitement. Family and friends gather for a fast-breaking meal known as Iftar, with special culinary delights for the occasion, and many restaurants and local establishments will extend their evening hours to accommodate the after-dark activity.
To purchase the “Fly, Stay and Play” deals, customers can book at Etihad.com, through a travel agent or the regional call centres.
Kids’ airfare to UAE varies depending on the point of sale: £1 for UK, CHF 1 for Switzerland, AU$1 for Australia, CAD$1 for Canada and € 1 for Europe markets. The rate of US$ 1 applies to all other markets.
