Kuwait bans screening of "Two girls from Egypt"
The committee of film censorship at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information has decided to ban the screening of the Egyptian film “Bintain Min Masr” (Two girls from Egypt) due to the strong sexual connotation it contains.
The committee made its decision to stop the film from screening in movie theaters in Kuwait after watching a review of it and discovering that it concentrates on women with strong sexual desires.
According to the internet website MBC.net, the committee added that all the dialogue in the film and it scenes revolve around sexual matters that should not be talked about publicly based on the legislations of the committee.
The committee also stated in its decision that omitting some of the scenes would not suffice, because the film in its entirety is not acceptable.
The film is directed and written by Mohammad Ameen, and stars Egyptian actress Zaina and Jordanian actress Saba Mubarak, who is making her first appearance in an Egyptian film.
