Tamer Husni’s fans oppose duet with Moroccan singer
Fans of Egyptian singer Tamer Husni have expressed their disappointment and refusal regarding him singing alongside Moroccan contestant Basmah Boseel on the talent show ‘Star Academy’. A clip to advertise for the show was aired on the Lebanese satellite channel MTV of Tamer and Basima together the new song “Matis’alneesh” (Don’t Ask Me), which is from Tamer’s latest album.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Tamer’s fans created a webpage titled “Basmah Boseel’s haters” and posted the clip stressing that such a clip is an insult to Tamer and hurts his image.
It is said that Basmah was attacked with waves of negative criticism after clips of her were aired from the show with Jordanian contestant Yahia Suways acting in a manner that is considered disrespectful to the Arab audience.
On his part, Tamer said before filming the song that he considers Basmah to be a singer with great potential and deserves to be given the chance. Tamer also announced that he intends on filming another clip with Lara Iskandar, who is also a contestant on the show.
