In continued raids agaist suspected terror cells across the country, Lebanese soldiers arrested five individuals, including two they believe have links to extremist groups.

As the Saudi-led coalition enters its third week of airstrikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen, Saudi's ambassador to Lebanon warned Hezbollah to stay out of international dialogue on the escalating crisis following harsh criticism from the Lebanon-based Shiite group.
While the security sources suggested a deal was close with the Nusra Front, the fate of another nine hostages held by Daesh militants remains shrouded in mystery. (AFP/File)

Security sources in Lebanon say a deal may soon be forged between al-Qaeda's Syria affiliate, Nusra Front, and the Lebanese government for release of some 16 Lebanese servicemen whose hostage crisis at the extremist group's hands is now in it's ninth month. Meanwhile, the fate of another nine hostages held by Daesh remains unknown.
