Iranian state TV has reportedly released new pictures of the US sailors captured last month, including photos of one of the sailors in tears. Ten US Navy personnel were arrested after their vessels drifted into Iranian-controlled waters in January. They were released following frantic negotiations between US secretary of state John Kerry and Iranian foreign minister Mohammed Javad Zarif.

The photographs released by Iran appear to show one of the sailors crying after being captured. They were shared on Twitter by Abas Aslani (@abasinfo), whose profile describes him as “General Director of World & FP @ Tasnim News Agency” and “Former General Director of World & FP @ Fars News Agency.”

Last month, top Iranian general Hossein Salami claimed that the US sailors cried after being arrested, however footage was never released. Instead, footage showing the men with their hands on their heads while being arrested was shown, with many considering it an embarrassment for the US.

The photos have not yet been confirmed by any official sources.

Aslani also posted a clip from what appeared to be the news agency.
