Three militants were killed Sunday after they attempted to attack a security checkpoint near the presidential palace in Sanaa, Reuters reports.
“Three terrorists were killed at dawn today in a new attack that targeted a security checkpoint,” an Interior Minister spokesman said.
This most recent incident of violence comes days after an attack on the presidential palace in which five militants were killed, according to Reuters.
The militants are suspected to be members of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, a lethal branch of al Qaeda that terrorizes Yemen.
