According to SUNA, president of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, pointed out that the current year is the one for peace, stability and unity in Sudan. Addressing Saturday in Cairo a celebration marking the signing of the national reconciliation and comprehensive peace agreement between the government and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), President Al-Bashir stressed that efforts will continue to achieve solutions for all the conflicts in Sudan. He hoped that the current negotiation session in Abuja between the government and the armed movements of Darfur will be successful. President Al-Bashir called on all the Sudanese political forces to work together and unite efforts to compensate the time which has lost in different conflicts. He asserted that the government is committed to its programme and strategy for peace and national accord. He stressed the importance of concentration of efforts in the coming stage for the construction, rehabilitation and comprehensive development for the welfare of the Sudanese people. President Al-Bashir called on all the Sudanese people abroad to return home to join the re-building process. He said that Sudan was bestowed with tremendous resources; top of them is the Sudanese citizen. He announced that the national unity government will be established on July 9. President Al-Bashir has praised the valuable endeavours which are being done by Egypt's President, Hosni Mubarak, for the sake of Sudan's stability, security and unity.
