American University in Dubai to Meet Goals of Residents & Country
American University in Dubai has received a permit from government authorities to operate a state-accredited institution of higher education, according to o Al-Ittihad newspaper daily. The university's president, Las De Mass, said the institution would seek to help the UAE accomplish its national goals through providing world-class, high-quality education that would meet the needs of the emirate residents.
Mass -- who visited the university's new building, which will be inaugurated next March - thanked the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the approval. The chairman noted that the declaration of Dubai Internet City and his announcement regarding the opening of an information technology bachelor program by the university manifests the harmony between local initiatives and the university's strategic vision.
