After conquering the Kia Champ into the Arena tournament organized by National Arab Motors (Kia Jordan), the Amin Shuqair Warehouses team headed to South Africa on the 29th of June to attend one of the quarter final matches of the 2010 World Cup.
The Kia Champ into the Arena tournament came as part of a series of initiatives that Kia Motors Corporation is licensed by FIFA to organize in various parts of the globe in preparation for the 2010 World Cup.
Amin Shuqair Warehouses team will represent Jordan in a global quintuplet in which 13 of Kia’s dealers from the world will participate. The participating countries include Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Africa, England, Germany, France, Netherlands, Italy, China, Korea and Malaysia. The tournament will be held in the city of Johannesburg sidelining the 2010 World Cup.
National Arab Motors’ Vice Chairman Nihad Zacharia expressed great joy at the team’s departure to South Africa, explaining that they had earned the championship title after their stellar performance. “The tournament was organized with the objective of granting the many skilled football enthusiasts in the Kingdom the opportunity to showcase their talents,” said Zacharia. “We are optimistic that the team will aptly represent Jordan in the global tournament and we are glad that we have helped them realize a lifelong dream of experiencing the World Cup.”
The Kia Champ into the Arena tournament, which was the largest football quintuplet in the Kingdom, began on the 30th of April and ended on June 9th 2010. More than 260 teams – 1560 players from around the Kingdom – participated in the tournament, culminating in an exhilarating final match between Amin Shuqair Warehouses and Duo Cartoons, with the first winning the game 5 to 4. The tournament featured the participation of the first-ever National Artists Team in addition to having a notable female presence by members of the Jordanian Women’s National Team.
