Assad, Ahmadinejad and Nasrallah discuss Israeli threats during Damascus summit
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday night held a dinner banquet in honor of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the presence of Lebanon's Hizbullah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. The Iranian president began an official visit to Syria on Thursday, during which bilateral relations and regional developments were discussed.
According to Syrian press reports, the three leaders discussed the latest Israeli threats against Syria and Lebanon.
The Iranian president met on the sidelines of his visit leaders of Palestinian factions based in Damascus, including the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Khaled Mashaal, and reiterated his country's support for the Palestinian people.
