Baghdad Ready to Give Aid to Lebanon after Israeli Attacks
Iraq is ready to give all the help it can to alleviate the sufferings of the Lebanese people after last week's Israeli attacks on the country, the official INA news agency reported Monday.
The Iraqi Red Crescent is "ready to use all its capabilities to take part in any action aimed at easing the sufferings (of the Lebanese) in the aftermath of the Zionist bombing," the association's director, Hisham Salman al-Saadun said in a message to the Lebanese Red Cross.
Israel bombed two power stations in Lebanon in the early hours of Friday morning in reprisal for a rocket attack launched from Lebanon on its northern territory, which killed one soldier and injured a number of civilians.
The rocket attack was itself a response to earlier Israeli air raids that had killed two Lebanese civilians and injured 14 – (AFP)
