Bomb Scare at Russian Government HQ in Moscow
A bomb scare led to the evacuation of the Russian government's headquarters in Moscow Sunday, Russia's FSB secret services said.
"We are almost certain it was a false alarm," said a spokesman, cited by ITAR-TASS news agency. He added there was at least one false bomb alert a month in the Russian capital.
"Usually the calls come from some unbalanced person," he added.
Only a few people were actually in the headquarters on Sunday - Christmas day in the Orthodox church calendar.
Security measures have been strengthened in Moscow since December 25 to counter any possible terrorist attack by rebels of the breakaway republic of Chechnya over the New Year and Christmas holidays -- MOSCOW (AFP)
