Ericsson MUME inaugurates New Office in Erbil
Ericsson, the world’s leading provider of telecommunications equipments and related services to mobile and fixed networks, has announced the inauguration of its new Branch Offices in Erbil, Iraq. This latest addition will enhance the company's presence in the Middle East region by providing a facility for local presence that caters to and supports the potential growth in Iraq.
The inauguration event was attended by Mr. Bo-Erik Dahlström, Head of Market Unit Middle East, together with Mr. Tarek Saadi, Head of Account Unit Northern Middle East, a number of local officials and the press in addition to members of Ericsson North Middle East Management Team.
In his welcoming speech, Bo-Erik Dahlström, Head of Market Unit Middle East, said “There is a strong need of telecommunication solutions in Iraq and we strongly believe that Iraq has the potential to grow, we regard it as be one of the most strategic markets for growth for Ericsson. Inaugurating Erbil office strengthens our presence in Iraq, and is considered as the first step in expanding our footprint among the customers in this country.”
For his part, Mr. Tarek Saadi, Head of Account Unit Northern Middle East, highlighted the importance of Ericsson’s presence in Iraq and the major role it will play in the continuous growth of telecommunications in Iraq saying “The new office will play a major role in ensuring that Ericsson’s customers in Iraq have access to Ericsson’s products & services and to the expertise that supports them. The office will reinforce the excellent relationships that Ericsson has already forged with the local market over the past years”.
“Ericsson’s customers in Iraq positively viewed the opening of the new office, as it reflects our commitment to move rapidly to meet our customers’ demands. Ericsson is now in Iraq and is open for business”, he added.
According to Saadi, now that Ericsson is in the country with a local office and presence, they are increasing their chances for capturing more business in this promising market and increasing their market share in both mobile and wireline.
Ericsson has been present in the Middle East for more than 50 years and has during these years been working closely with the operators on creating, developing and growing the telecom market in the region. With activities and operations in all 13 countries in the Middle East and offices in 12, Ericsson today does business with more than 20 operators in the region. The company's portfolio comprises mobile & fixed network infrastructure, broadband, and multimedia solutions for operators, government organizations, and enterprises.
