French authorities dispatched an aircraft carrier to the Gulf Monday as part of the US-led coalition’s military campaign against Daesh in Iraq, AFP reported.
“The integration of the Charles de Gaulle in the operation in Iraq begins this morning,” a defense minister told AFP.
A fighter jet was seen departing from Charles de Gaulle this morning in the direction of Iraq via Bahrain.
France joined the US last year by launching airstrikes against Daesh positions in Mosul.
