Gaddafi's son detained
Moammar Gaddafi's son Seif al-Islam was captured in a southern Libyan city along with three of his aides who were trying to smuggle him out of the country, a militia commander said on Saturday. According to the AP, Bashir al-Tlayeb of the Zintan brigades said that Seif al-Islam was caught in the town of Obari, near the southern city of Sabha about 650 kilometers south of Tripoli.
Gaddafi was brought to the city of Zintan.
Saif al-Islam and his three armed companions were taken without a fight overnight, officials said. "We have arrested Saif al-Islam Gaddafi in Obari area," Justice Minister Mohammed al-Alagy told Reuters.
An image of Saif al-Islam showed him lying on a reclining sofa with his fingers wrapped in bandages and his legs covered with a thick, brown blanket. The wounds were apparently sustained earlier.
