One Palestinian fighter was killed on Wednesday dawn in an Israeli airstrike at a group of Hamas men near the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, witnesses and hospital officials said. The witnesses said that a group of Hamas activists gathered near the borders when one air-to-ground missile suddenly hit them. One was killed and two others were injured.
Medics in Shifa Hospital said the dead was Yahia Habib, 24 years old from eastern Gaza City. Overnight, another Islamic Hamas operative died in another Israeli airstrike in east of Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian witnesses and medics said.
Since Monday afternoon, 13 Palestinians died in the Gaza Strip, including two children in a series of Israeli air raids and artillery shelling.
