Inmates of nearly 20 different nationalities died in Saudi prison fire
The inmates who died in a huge fire at the Al-Hair jail in Saudi Arabia earlier this week, were of 18 different nationalities, media reports said Wednesday.
A-sharq al-Awsat reported they included 49 Saudis, one Jordanian, one Yemeni and one Sudanese, while the 15 others came from various African and East Asian countries.
Meanwhile, Arab News said they included one Egyptian and a Bangladeshi.
All prisoners were common law criminals convicted of offences ranging from theft to drug trafficking and kidnapping, the reports added. (Albawaba.com)
